Packaged Systems Smiths X-ray systems are used to inspect packaged products for contamination of metal, glass, stone etc., and help prevent potentially harming produce reaching the market. All packs are examined in-line and those showing possible signs of defect are rejected automatically to a reject bin. No matter the packaging material, the Smiths X-ray systems are ideal for detecting small contaminants in a wide variety of products and ensuring only "safe" goods reach the customer.

Bulk Product Detection Smiths "bulk" systems are used to detect possible contamination both of incoming goods and / or ingredients and help prevent costly production downtime and possible recall. Ideal for those locations with free-flowing products, the units can be equipped with multiple reject devices, sorters etc. and also offer quality information feedback.

Tall "Side-Shoot" Systems The "side-shoot" system is most often found in canning and beverage lines where conventional where conventional detector systems aren't suited in either height or speed. Using a signal of four-beam configuration, the beam is directed horizontally through the tall can / jar checking for contaminants, fill level, missing components etc. Capable of speeds in excess of 120m/m, the Smiths Quadview is the ideal detection solution for most production locations.
